  • If you don't know where the starter is then you won't know how to check it. Take it to a mechanic.
  • I am a retired mechanic and a volvo owner and I reccomend you get someone who knows what they are doing to check out your problem. cars are dangerous enough without people fiddling blindly with them.
  • I assume you mean the starter won't crank the engine. Did you try a jump start and check the battery voltage with a meter? If the voltage is good, there could be a blown fuse or relay. Also, wire leading to the starter could be broken. These are general things to check on any vehicle.
