  • In all honesty, she probably couldn't. There's nothing beneficial to having a tongue-ring and for some it sends out a lewd message- one that not only her mother, but she herself may be uncomfortable with.
  • You can't because she is too reasonable and wise to not allow you to do that while you are her responsibility. It is your parents that would have to pay fro any dental bills or medical bills if something went wrong or you got an infection or broke a tooth. When you are old enough to pay for your own consequences, then it is alright for you to get anything pierced that you want. PLus, your mom wouldn't want other's to think certain things about her daughter just because she has a pierced tongue. Sorry. Not a good idea.
  • I hope that she cannot. I would hope that she would wait until she is old enough to do it herself so she has no one else to blame.
  • She could give her mother a SINGLE reason, other than simple vanity or sexual attraction, to have one's tongue pierced. Good luck coming up with one.
  • i would appreciate it if you answer with ways to convince my mom, not reasons not to get it, thank you.
  • the piercing WILL chip your teeth. its inevitable. most reliable piercings will not pierce anyone under 18. when you pay for your own things you can make yourown decisions....until then youre stuck under what mom says.
  • By convincing her that YOU will be able to pay cash for any damage to your teeth or hospital bill for the infection you could get?
  • By getting a job and moving out. Respect your parents rules.
  • If you really want to, tell her you will pay for it and be responsible. It is your body, but you most likely live under her roof and by her rules.
  • ha...in your dreams
  • i convinced my parents by telling them that they would never have to see it and that i'd put a retainer in while around them. my mom still hated/hates the idea, but my dad took me to get it anways. just try and make good points, they'll go for it sooner or later.
  • i have a piercing further back and it still hits my teeth and sometimes i even bite it when i eat and you think you want play with it but after it heals you will

  • I don't think it is a matter of convincing as much as it is a matter of obeying your parent or parents. As long as you live under your parents roof you are required to obey them as long as they do not harm you in any way. Once you leave their home you can do as you wish. They may not like it but you will be on your own. Even when I would visit in my parents home I respected their requests and what they expected of me although I was in my 50s and 60s. You need to do the same. It is the right and respectful thing to do.
