  • They know instinctively. You just put them in the litter and they know just what to do. It's amazing really.

      Not always.
  • Yeah, but they still vomit on the carpet!
  • I had some kitties that did and others that I had to teach. Depends on the kitty.
  • As long as they knwo where it is, they will go in it. cats instinctively cover up/bury when they go.
  • Apparently my cats don't have it figured out yet! Actually, it's my fault. If my litter boxes are clean, they'll go in it. Also, they do go on the floor and I get it cleaned up right away, that helps. But, if the boxes are dirty, they'll go wherever they can. And, they'll return to the same spot they've gone before.
  • Cats usually follow the cat instinct of looking for a place with a texture like sand or loose dirt where they can easily dig a hole to poop or pee and cover it up. A litter box provides that texture which is usually what draws cats to use litter boxes without any training They will, however, avoid a litter box that has too much poop or, sometimes, another cat's poop.
  • Alot of cats do,but mostly, they'll take to it easier if you show it to them from about a month and a half to two months old. Take their little paw,and swipe it backwards in the litter, but be gentle. This how they learn!
  • Generally speaking they like to go in a product that allows them to cover it up. It is fairly easier to litter box train a cat than it is to potty train a dog.
