Hell, I'm OLD country, myself. Just about anything by Waylon and Willie, Hank Jr., Dolly, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, and many others will always hold a spot in my heart. I grew up with it, though I consider myself to be a rock-n-roller. My idea of 'new country' were people like Emmy Lou Harris. That girl is good! Nothing against 'new country'. I find it very fun music, just totally different than what I think of as 'country' music. Who doesn't love Shania Twain, for example? :) Most people today find old country to be lame. Those of us who grew up with it either love it or hate it. I happen have very fond memories. :) Mamas, Don't Let You Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys--Willie Luckenback, Texas -- Waylon & Willie All My Rowdy Friends--Hank Jr. (I was going to embed, but they're not allowing it :( http://youtube.com/watch?v=rVpfUURpoVc But, another favorite was remade by Elvis Costello (my main man!) It's Been a Good Year for the Roses--George Jones (Elvis Costello)
