  • Spy? MySpace is a public site. Are you at work? What is the context?
  • If your myspace page is public anybody can look at it.
  • Not at all. In the U.S. the majority of people that hire workers for a professional job, check records. They go through Facebook, myspace, blogs, etc... This is just to check if you're a clean person, as in if you're not in any illegal activity etc... Myspace is open to anyone, depends the restrictions you put on it. I mean, who's going to hire some girl, that has a topless picture with friends drinking beer, posted on myspace?
  • It's not "spying". It's "looking". Basically this is how it goes. You have the right to expect privacy in certain places, inside your home is the most usual one. When you choose to put yourself into the open, you cannot expect people to not look at you, so just like if you were in a park and people looked at you, if you put yourself on myspace he has the right to look at your profile.
  • If you are at work...yes. But since it is public he really isn't spying on you. At work those are his computers not yours.
  • I dunno . . . is it ok to do personal stuff at work. I'm not sure the legality of that. Google it or perhaps someone here is an authority. Lot can depend upon the where you live. Country, state, etc.
  • MySpace is a public site. Anybody can view your info there. In fact, there are probably at least a handful of pantsless pervs sitting at home in their mommy's basement's right now taking a look-see. But do you mean is it legal for him to check to see if you are on Mypace while you are at work, then I don't see how it could be illegal, since you in all probability don't own the computer there and you are on company time. Naughty, naughty!
  • it is public. plus, if you are surfing at work the computer and internet connection are the company's. So they have the right to snoop to see what you're doing.
