Nope.
-
No.
-
Yes, but what difference does it make anyway?
-
South Africa - no.
-
What, like Rhodesia? No. But if you're white, I might assume you're a mercenary.
-
yesssssssssssssss
-
i already know your not, but would definately not assume that. it is u.k. governed and influenced, but there are blacks in the U.K also, but only an ignorant person would assume that. plus, we all type in black and white on here any way...
-
Honestly, I probably would. I can admit that I make assumptions, just like everyone else in the world, whether they admit it or not.
-
nice one. partide anybody?
-
No I lived there for 27 years and would not assume that.
-
I wouldn't assume that concretely, but, I would think it was likely, ya know?
-
Nope. I'd assume you're white, to be honest. And then I'd assume that you blamed the Blacks for being poor.
-
No quite the opposite actually.
-
Since you're using the Internet and messing around with Answerbag, and speaking good English except for capitalization, I would assume you were likelier white, although one of the few people I know there who is black DOES speak English and owns a net cafe.
-
I would not. There are many Caucasians in South Africa, and I am one of them. But the majority of South Africa's population is black.
-
Not really, but the population there is a bit of both, I think.
-
No. I know that whites and blacks live there.
-
Not all lol,
-
I would assume it until I had evidence to the contrary.:)
-
When I think of South Africa being black isn't the first thing that comes to mind. You could easily be white.
-
i wouldnt assume anything, just from reading one question. You could be from anywhere!
-
no
-
No
-
No, my first assumption would be that you are white.
-
No. I majored in World Sciences in college & I know that most of the people there are white w/ an accent.
-
No. People of all color can live there.
-
I lived in South Africa, would you assume I'm Black..?
-
Africans come in all shades. Thats why a rainbow is so pretty
-
Nope. You said you live there, but not that you were born there, so I assume nothing.
-
No, I would not. Besides blacks there are also Caucasians (particularly, English) living in South Africa.
-
naw
-
I would guess that you are Afrikaan of Dutch heritage
-
No, actually all but one of the people I have met from SA are white.
-
seeing that's it's SOUTH africa, no. learning about africa, we've always been (sort of) told south is white. or maybe i just got that impression.
-
No, I had a white co-worker from South Africa and I've met a few other whites from there.
-
No :)
-
No. As a matter of fact, many South Africans have white skin. I went to high school with a kid from South Africa who is white.
-
no....I really don't sit here and imagine the ethnicity of a person based on where they live in the world....race is not important....what is important is your Q's, A's, and comments.
-
No. I used to live in Rhodesia, that doesn't make me black.
-
Being a quasi statistician I would think you were black. If I were a betting man I would go with the demographic of 75% black 13% white and the rest mixed or Indian and assume you were black and I would bet that way. I'll bet you a nickle you are black. So, what are you?
-
I live in California so like would you like totally think that im like blonde and tan. Surfs up dude.
-
no, seeing as the french colonized there and our unique ability to by plane tickets
-
Of course not! Would I care? Of course not! By the way, while we're on assumptions: I live in the United States. Would you assume that I'm white? And, if so, going further, would you go and assume that I likely hated blacks?!? Millions of people around the world have been fed THAT wrong, dumb assumption, as well. :-(
-
No I would assume you are South African and never thought of your race.
-
No, but I doubt you are a figure skater.
-
No, I wouldn't.
-
actually id assume ur white
-
Not at all. To assume you are black would make me too narrow-minded. LOL I met a lot of white people from S.A. One of them was my endocrinologist dr. in Denver, Colorado.
-
Actually I would be surprised if you were, especially after the conflicts that have happen there for someone who is black to ask a question like. Please don't take that wrongly, it would just surprise me is all.
-
Probably not. I know that whites are in a minority, but my guess is that South Africans with Internet access and the inclination to use Answerbag would be slightly more likely to be white.
-
Not because you live there, but if you said you were from there I probably would. Like asians in china, you know.
-
No.
-
No,hi i live in Vryheid (zululand)where are you.
-
No :)
-
My former supervisor at work was from South Africa and he wasn't black, in fact he's Jewish.
-
No, I wouldn't. Now, if you lived in Zimbabwe, I would assume you were Black, because I can't imagine any White person with sense would still be there. In fact, I can't imagine why anyone at all would still be there. I miss Rhodesia.
-
No I would not, and if anything I would probably think you were white.
-
well, demographically speaking, there is a 79.5% chance you are black, 9.3% chance you are white & roughly 11% chance you are of mixed race. But if you say I'm from "Southern Africa" rather than "South Africa" I'd definitely assume you are black. Not a big deal though.
-
No I have learned through time and experience to never assume anything because when one assumes one makes an ass out of u and me.
-
It does'nt matters to me what's your color is. so my answer is NO:)
-
Nope. I had an amazing teacher from South Africa. I was in the 2nd grade when she taught me, every child in the room had a hard time wrapping their mind around how a white person lived in Africa...then she actually showed us the place and her family. We quickly realized it was just as diverse as anywhere else.
-
Without looking at anyone elses answers, I'm assuming not only are you white..but really white and have a British accent.
-
Absolutely not; more likely to be white or coloured...
-
I would assume you are race conscious.
-
No I would not.
-
I wouldn't even think about it.. I'm not race concious..
-
Not at all. I know that South Africa is where apartheid took place, and that a mjority of people there are white.
-
I wouldn't. Most people in South Africa are white, not taht it would matter.
-
i think i would think so,,but if u told me in which part i would think twice i think..cuz i know lots from there who aren't !
-
No, i assume you're South African. :)
-
i would assume u are african but not that u r black..justme:)
-
no i wouldn't.
-
nope, i would assume you have blue eyes and beautiful skin. every south african i know has these.
-
No not necessarely, that's why Nelson got imprisonned, isn't it?
-
nooo south africa is highly populated with whites
-
I love clubbing with my friends, like water skiing, hiking shopping, gym...the usual stuff people do for fun. Yes it is alot of fun over here, so much to do. And theres more than jut black and white people
-
I would prove myself dumb if i say yes...it isn't necessary.
-
If you live in SA and are writing on AB, I'd actually assume that you were White (English) SAfrican
-
Honestly, my first thought was Dutch or Afrikaner. But there's a possibility you have dark skin. It is South Africa, after all. Black can refer to anything, though. In England for a long time, black meant Indian. In Australia, it means Australian Aboriginals. In the US, it means descendants of slaves, usually with white, Native American, or other ethnicities mixed in. (Which means technically Obama isn't the first "black" president, but he IS the first African-American president).
-
no, not at all. people of all colors and backgrounds live in south africa...
-
No i am from Kenya East africa and i was born in kenya, but my parents where from other contry.
-
there are black africans and white Africas so no I wouldn't assume your black you could be either
-
Funny enough, whenever I meet a black person from South Africa I'm surprised! I don't know why...it's weird, haha!
-
Well, based on percentages of the population, the likelihood is that you are. Still, I wouldn't assume you're black - partly because a very large percentage of black people in SA are still poorer than the whites and don't have access to the internet and stuff. That's the impression I got when I was there anyway.
-
Until corrected or given reason to assume otherwise.
-
NO, JUST THERE.
-
No, didn't even consider the options just the location.
-
I never ever assume.
-
no, but some stupid people might
