Yes it does. When you hear it all the time it just makes you feel so low. Abuser's will do this...it is part of who they are.

In my family it was sometimes used to express some unpleasant emotion indirectly, or to reduce the tension in themselves about a triggering topic. I tend not to want to encourage this behavior and instead to respectfully address the moment. not always successful at this.
