  • Because everybody knows about virginity. Not everybody knows about the other stuff you ask. Although maybe more constructive as questions, they are too complicated and out of my league. Therefore I never answer those and read the next ones... I know N O T H I N G on those situations... and am not very interested in them either :(
  • Just a guess, but perhaps people have more knowledge and experience (pardon the pun) with virginity (and loss thereof!) than about those other subjects?
  • Because not many people really have an opinion on the real issues of life but incidentals are of great importance to them. They are simply reflecting the malaise that is throughout society and most prevalent in politics!
  • Because they catch people's attention more :)
  • I give points to questions I answer, and I try not to answer out of ignorance. As a virgin, I can answer questions about virginity. I am not NEARLY as familiar with Kosovo, Darfur, and the UN as I am with the human body.
  • Because what you lose close up is more important than losses far away.
  • Most people avoid controversial questions to avoid arguments/negative points. They also only give points to the questions they answer. A second reason could be the high number of kids on AB now. Alot of them dont bother with serious questions and only bother with the "he said a dirty word" type questions.
  • Because you're a lot less likely to catch on fire when you talk about virginity.
  • You know, I think it has something to do with other people's attention to current events. Or rather, just the news in general. Your example of virginity is something most people can give advice on almost no matter what is going on in the world. But, it might take more thought and energy to recall watching the news, reading the paper, and to rehash it into an answer. Or, if people just don't read the paper or watch the news, they'll just ignore your question. Something else might be...that... they aren't interesting in those types of questions. SOO, sorry. I'll try and answer your questions on Kosovo, Darfur, and the United Nations.
  • people are more interested in sex than current events. always have been, always will be. that's why more people watch "Dancing with the Stars" or "Survivor" in a night than watch CSPAN in a month.
  • Maybe because people don't want to be reminded of bad things in the world...we see enough of those every day...sometimes its good to answer mindless questions and not think so much
  • Because everyone can relate to a question on virginity and can express their thoughts on that subject.
  • A very good and relevant question. I know, for me, I usually have to do a good bit of research to provide a knowledgeable answer that is at least slightly worthy of the important topics you listed. My brain just doesn't retain information like it once did. The downrates wouldn't bother me if they could actually refute the information I've provided with factual information themselves but to downrate just because they don't like the truth is frustrating. Debaters don't bother me at all if they are open minded and present an opposing argument with some measure of intelligence (I don't even care if they debate with sarcasm and name-calling as long as they provide credible info). Still, the saddest thing to me is to provide an answer on a subject I feel strongly about and have it sit there without ever being read by anyone other than the one asking the question. I feel very strongly about Kosovo especially. I will go and look for your questions and try to provide some intelligent thoughts. I have spent a lot of time on fluff lately. Time to take care of some serious stuff.
