That wouldn't happen. I'm not trying to toot my own horn, but the office falls apart without me. I went on vacation for a week & I came back to a disaster. Plus my 2 best friends work with me, so they would be texting me with stupid stuff to make me laugh while sick.
-
If it was me I'd feel disappointed.
-
I dont have an office but if my coworkers didn't contact my I would call them, I would feel angry.
-
B. But it would never happen. I get calls on my regular days off.
-
B
-
B if that actually happened... but that wouldn't. We have a small, close knit office. For example: (after family) they were the first people I called to tell when my niece was born. :)
-
b: that show's they are not really 'workmates'
-
I would be very hurt and angry.
-
Basically i would resent any emotions i would be inclined to feel because at the end of the day sir... You dont go to work to make friends You go to work to earn money and survive
-
if you meet outside of work then yes thats hurtful. but if the events u have shared with them were due to work then they had no choice in seeing you and are probably just being friendly due to the fact they work with you and no one wants to work in an unhappy environment.
-
D) Relieved I appreciate the sentiment but I really would'nt want to be bothered. I'm catching up on my porno.
-
c not be surprised.
-
I would be sooooo happy!
-
c) Not surprised. d) Thrilled.
-
Disappointed and sad:(
-
I've been through this, and I was surprised. I certainly didn't expect them to be knocking down my door or cleaning my house for me, but a freakin' phone call would have been nice.
-
If I was sick on leave, given how stressful my job is, my coworkers and bosses would respect that and let me recuperate in peace - not being contacted at my work is a really good thing. But yes, if it was a different place of work, it'd be a mixture of A and B.
-
A and B. I am friends with one of my coworkers. We meet outside of work 2 or 3 times a week, and we talk on the phone and instant messenger every day.
-
Neither. Most people just have so much going on nowadays, that a co-worker is usually pretty far down on the list. If I had some really close friends that I worked with, I would think they might call, but I wouldn't hold it against them. My job, before they forced me into retirement, the only person who would have called would have been a supervisor, telling me if I wasn't back after 3 days, I would be fired. The only thing that would save my job is a DETAILED note from a specialist, not a family doctor, (then I would have to fight it thru the union).
-
I would be super bummed - I wouldn't do that to them!
-
I wouldn't be surprised, but I'd still be disappointed.
-
I wasn't surprised. I gave birth 2 times without a single phone call. oh well.. The first time I was a little disappointed.
-
I was out for 2 mos. and no one contacted me. I was SOOO HAPPY!... lol
-
I would not be surprised. Most of the people at work are workplace friends or no one important to me outside of the workplace and a few are workplace friends.
-
D) Be worried... I wouldn't have thought it would be that easy to replace me. lol
-
Let us view this for what it really is, it's a place of business. They are not your friends, they are not your family. The fact that you are together with these people for 8 hours a day when you are well is because you both require income. If I was out sick for a month, I would insist on being left alone. Ed, did this happen to your after your recent oral surgery? Did they act like you don't even exist? We would never ignore you for a month on AB.
-
I would be very disappointed - while they aren't family or close friends, I do spend a great deal of time with them and I feel as though we have a relationship.

C-Not Suprised. The "Team" only exists in the imagination of top management. In the perfect world of his dreams, every employee is as excited about making him money as he is and as a result, they function as a team. In reality, people go to work to make a living, there is no team and its every man for himself. The truth? They are probably not happy about having to cover your duties. Have they asked you to sign the "medical leave act" form yet?
