Are belly button piercings supposed to shrink between the bottom and top holes after you change the barbell to a regular piece of jewelry?

Yes, the hole will get smaller or larger in comparison to what size gauge you have in the hole.

oh ok thnkx, cause it hasn't shrunk too much just a little bit. How do you know if you're body is going to reject it? Will it push it out right after it has been pierced or a few months after, or like a year and what are the signs of that? I've had mine pierced for about 4 months and i just changed it but it was fine when i had the original barbell in it, it only shrunk after i changed it for the first time. I've heard that the piercers will use a barbell that is larger then other pieces of jewelry--so i guess that has to do with the gauge thing?
