I think the soul is what animates the body. It gives the body life and keeps it alive and moving. The soul is the eternal energy that is not destroyed at death. Death is when the soul leaves the body. What becomes of the soul after death is debatable, because many cultures around the world have different ideas of the souls journey after death of the body. 4/23/26

When it comes to soul and spirit, they are two different words that many people confuse. A soul is considered the human body, which holds the center of emotions, intentions and the inner self. Loving the Lord with all your heart, [soul] , mind, and strength is identified in Matthew 22:37-38. Whereas a spirit is a non-physical, animating force.
