IMO a good rule of thumb is an equivalent in comic books. * Minimum weekly allowance should be equal to the cover price of one comic book. (1 Comic Book Cover Price, or CBCP) * If the parent(s) have sufficient $ and the child is doing a lot of chores or is older, two or three CBCP per week is justified. * If the child is old enough to buy their own clothes (and does so, without trying to look like a slut or a Satan-worshiper), then the allowance needs to be raised to cover such necessities. * Current CBCP is apparently $5! (Shocked)
