  • That depends on the circumstances. * For example: if China attacked Taiwan unilaterally, then Japan would probably do no more than protest loudly and officially. * If World War III began, then Japan would probably jump in on the side of "the defenders". * On the other hand, if North Korea attacked Taiwan, then Japan might get involved more directly. * Note that Japan still has a very strong "no military involvement in foreign conflicts" policy.
