  • Firstly I don't feel compelled to answer a question to which I don't know the answer. Your answer could be "I'd like to learn more about this" so that you can get notifications when someone else answers. But if I'm interested in the subject I'll usually look it up and learn what I can right then. I also agree with Bible guy that I don't know is a perfectly acceptable answer especially for a survey type question.
