I think about Half the current population. Have you ever been anywhere and not found an empty beer can or other rubbish? I haven't.

Currently there are 8.1 billion people on Earth and the human population is increasing so it’s difficult to say exactly how many people that Earth can support but I’m sure near the 10 billion figure at most. That’s a guess though.

Experts generally estimate around 9.4 billion, maybe 10 billion if people are willing to be extra miserable. We're quite close to that number already. I wonder how much of an effect we are seeing on lifestyle as a result. I bet it'll appear to be a lot more in retrospect than it is now.
