I'm of the opinion that many are killed due to insecurity aka jealousy although I'm sure that greed gets its fair share of victims!!!

Do those murdered over the love of money and jealousy of money count as "money?" If so, money. If not, I don't know. People who kill over emotions tend to do it once, or in one instance. People who kill over greed tend to make a habit of it, and are also more likely to get away with it.
