theres only so much you can do for a person unless you want to die with them. As in we have to leave now and they won't what do you do then stay or die with them? I've now drank beers for my brother on his birthday for more years than he lived.

A "true friend" need not call to be a "true friend". A "true friend" is willing to help when you ask for it (assuming that said "help" doesn't require the friend to act contrary to his principles or good sense).
