A friend is a person with whom you share mutual platonic affection, so I say yes. -

But Jesus can be known intimately, after all , believers are his bride. Oranges, peaches..etc. -

Being said, marriage between a man and woman is a picture of Christ and the church. Nothing platonic about that. And the book of the Song of Solomon is a perfect written picture of Christ and his church.

I've moved a lot in my life, and I'm fairly outgoing, so I've actually made a lot of friends over my lifetime. I haven't always stayed close to them. And it also depends on your definition of a friend. I think my definition of a friend is a little more open than someone else. I tend to see everyone as a friend until they show me they're not, or give me a reason to dislike them. Or end up disliking me for one opinion or another. But as far as I'm concerned I can disagree with someone and still be friends. Some people can't /won't do that. But as for a number? Sheesh! I'd say I have at least a couple dozen really good friends. I'm very blessed!

In my mind, if you say a person is your friend, and that person says that you are a friend, then you are friends with each other, with no other stipulations.
