  • Well...first, that is ONE name of God in certain (a very few) English translations of the Bible, a name of God that is NOT found in MOST English translations of the Bible. *** Second: because the abbreviated prayer in English is traditionally "God Bless" and not "[insert some name of God] Bless".

  • Jehovah is not the correct name. His name is Yahweh. His Son's name is Yahshua. Go to yrm.org and look for the booklet "Your Father's Name" in the literature tab. It explains it very well.

  • Same reason people say "God save the Queen" rather than "Jehovah save Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second." Sometimes referring to an entity by title rather than by proper name is easier and equally unambiguous.
