Sam Harris favours buddhism, Dawkins I think once described "nothing," as something mystical, many of the atheists were born out of the lineage and following of Darwin, Huxley's, etc which did merge to a point of having interest in Eastern philosophy. I have Dawkins books, The God Delusion and the Selfish Gene, but I was an atheist prior to the emergence of Sam Harris, I've seen a few things on Harris, he doesn't appear to dismiss spirituality. As a push back, or food for thought I'd say Hitchens.
