  • I do not love it and sometimes I feel like I can not breath. But it is for the "Greater Good" so I do it.

"The Greater Good" - a line straight out of the Communist Manifesto.
  • I don't. If you're scared of catching Covid, you stay home and don't worry about what I'm doing.

Just what I've been thinking! How do I endanger you if you're wearing your mask? Haha. Thank you!

I'll wear it in places that require it, since it is someone's business and what they choose to mandate is up to them. If they don't require it, I won't wear one. If I don't want to wear a mask in Walmart, I won't go to Walmart. Simple. I'm sure as hell not wearing one when I'm out and about in public spaces.

  • Since you never know who is infected, including yourself, wearing a mask offers some protection to you and also from you to your community. It's a pretty simple gesture that can make a real effect. Some people might not be able to wear a mask for various medical conditions or whatever. It's best not to judge them, but rather give them as much distance as practicable so that you don't infect them or get infected by them. Also, a mask is not a guarantee nor a license to take risks.

For those who have breathing problems it helps if you hit your inhaler before donning one. And people on Metoprolol just need to move slower. Your heart will not speed up to accommodate for exercise of any kind.

  • Ditto BM. I wear a bandana and it is a nuisance, but so far it has worked. The store requirement thing has only gone too far once. I took my motorcycle to an auto parts store for some power steering fluid. I didn't want to take off my helmet to put on the mask so I just held it over my face. An employee came up to me with a box of masks. I think I said "I'm fine, thank you." I thought she was just offering me a "real" mask. She said "No. You have to put it on or he can't serve you." I turned around and tossed the bottle of fluid in a back-flipping arch into their stack of plastic shopping baskets.

  • Masks are used to protect other's from you, as your droplets are kept inside the mask. Wearing a mask can also help protect you to a degree, but droplets can still get into the eyes and so spread the virus. Hence, the more people wear masks, the more they are able to protect each other from getting sick from their own droplets. I've worn a mask from the get go, before it was compulsory, and I'm asthmatic, yes it's uncomfortable, but it makes sense. This time of year is also notorious flu season, and other infections such as cough's etc, hence I normally wrap my scarf around my face to avoid getting sick.

  • I feel like God didn't want me to feel singled out for having to wear a mask because of chemo so He made EVERYONE wear one! haha jk. I felt silly at first when I was the only one wearing a mask everywhere. Now no one asks if I'm wearing a mask because IM contagious anymore. It is hard to breathe if I try to move fast. But my biggest complaint is with overreaching government types who think they can tell everyone what to do in their own homes and go power crazy trying to grab all the power and control they can over this... like changing voting rules they have no legal right to change because of the pandemic.

Yup. But they'll keep doing it because "we the people" let them. Apathy has set in (from Tytler's Cycle)

  • I do it to protect others more than myself. Because I know it works. And because I value life. And because I don't think that thousands of people dying everyday in the country I live in (15th December 2020 today) is an insignificant number. So, it doesn't feel good (it's slightly uncomfortable sometimes) but of course I do.

  • until my city lifts the mask mandate, I'm obligated to wear it when I'm in stores or businesses. as soon as I'm out the door, I take my mask off. I like breathing fresh air and it was wonderful when I smelled spring.

  • I feel fine wearing a mask when I am outside.
    • DancesWithWolves
      Same with me
  • I feel fine about wearing a face mask. The only reason I wear a face mask is to protect myself and others around me. I understand people with breathing difficulties such as asthma can not wear a face mask so the only option for them is to wear a visor in public places. I get annoyed that there is the odd person who does not wear face protection like a face mask or visor in public places because they are not special in this situation that we have been facing for about 2 years now.

      Same with me
  • If it helps to keep me safe then I am happy to wear one .

  • Stupid and not necessary. I got covid delta in January from a vaccinated friend and while it was a pain in the ass for 3 weeks, my only remaining consequence is that my sense of smell is only just coming back

  • I thought the mask was meant to protect others?] Its a load of rubbish I don't do it, I think the world is full of muppets when I see people in their cars by themselves wearing masks. Its a way the goverment makes you a good sheep. Masks do nothing apart from make you comply.. Good sheep line up over here and get vaxxed.
