What happened to the Huns?
In the 5th-7th centuries, the Huns were a vast group of people who motivated migration throughout Europe that largely resulted in the ethnic groups we see today, yet the Huns themselves seem to have disappeared. Recently, scientists exhumed some known Hunnic gravesites and found DNA halogroups that don't match with any modern group of people. Why did the Huns die out completely after being so successful?

After Atillas death, his sons fought over the empire to the point that it was weakened enough that their enemies and former vassals were able to unite and destroy them. They practically disappeared about AD 469. 2/4/26
