Is print handwriting style is considered childish or immature for a college student?

Maybe but it's easier to read. In the military they told us to write in block letters. In text that's considered shouting. Maybe you should ask your teachers what they would prefer. I would imagine they would like it typed.

Writing a note to someone or to one's self is not important if the hand written note is cursive or printed. Hand written papers turned in for class assignments are usually unacceptable. Access to a computer and printer are now required for most college courses.

Perhaps they have a problem with writing and that is the best they can do at the time.
