  • If you mean the 1950s ideal of a middle class: single breadwinner owner of a suburban house and car, forget it. Middle class today varies widely. In a major coastal city suburb, it's going to take two professional salaries to achieve that same level of comfort.

      My point exactly. There is no more middle class. There is no more happy medium, there is a very wide division between the "well off" and the "poor". The rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer.

      I can see your point (i think), but consider that it might take only ten more years and robots will replace all the humans.

      I'm not so sure about the ten year timeline, but it certainly dosen't look good for our future as the use of robotics is expanding at an alarming rate.
