  • They will make the PB when the wicked old witch mrs cleaver returns so she is not bored
    • Kenz the Frenz
You'll be the first one to go in it if Mrs. Cleaver sees that comment! Lol:)
    • officegirl
What was wrong with Mrs. Cleaver? I liked her and we had some good chats Please have some respect for your elders.
  • NO>there is no report button or flag.
    • Linda Joy
Maybe they added it since you posted this, but there is a flag.
  • this site is so incomplete in many ways. its a good looking site but so much is missing from it.
    • Kenz the Frenz
I much preferred the look of the old site.
    • Skunky Stinkerson
i really hate how we don't get proper notifications. and can't view questions and answers etc. past a certain point.
    • RareCatch
This site is still in the first grade mode! Jan. 22
  • I had no knowledge of the penalty box but I believe this new bag is still heavily underdeveloped. Essentially, it's in a beta phase as it's missing so many elements that are common sense such as a notification system to alert us to when our content is interacted with and edit and delete options for our content.
    • Nosmo King
I was in the penalty box twice on the old site, both times within the last couple of months before it closed. The second time was for something that wasn't even against the terms of use, something I'd been doing regularly for four years but I was PB'ed just because it was starting to annoy one of the CLs. The first time was not my own fault either, it was for messaging a number of blissfully unaware members to warn them that they had one of the old site's most evil hatemongering trolls on their friends lists. Even though I didn't deserve PB for doing that, at least it got a result because during my time in the box a total of 78 members unfriended the troll in question, so at least I could gloat about that.
    • Bootsiebaby
I remember that particular troll, Nosmo. There is no sign of her on this new site, I guess she must have thrown in the towel.
    • Linda Joy
Nosmo King is active on this site.
  • I don't know. I was never in the penalty box on the old site. I did have an image removed from my profile because it was too "adult", but I wasn't penalty boxed for it.
    • Bootsiebaby
I suppose you should be thankful for small mercies. Lol:)
  • Hello there you were one of my friends on the old AB. I was wondering about you, you were so good at music. Glad I found you!! Jan 22
  • I don't think so, but if there is I have a pretty good idea who the first one in it is.
    • Nosmo King
I bet he is still a virgin at 48. Lol:)
    • Bootsiebaby
He will still be a virgin if he is still alive in another 48 years. No woman wants to know a creep like that.
    • Crazychick
He's back with a new account.
    • Crazychick

    • Army Veteran
      (oops)
  • Don't look now, Kenz, but one of the community leaders who did put innocent members in the box for things they haven't done is back here, and already his answers suggest he is still a community leader. I see trouble clouds on the horizon.
    • Bootsiebaby
I've seen that community leader already on here myself, Nosmo. He says he is not a community leader any more. I won't name idiotic trolls, but I know perfectly well who the community leader in question is.
    • Hogey the Roguey
OMG! He`s not still here, is he?
  • I don`t know yet, but I`ve got a feeling I might find out very soon.
  • I hope it has, because that pervert who was stalking and harassing me about three months ago has just returned with a new account after I thought they'd deleted his old one. People like that should be put in some kinda penalty box and stay there forever.
    • we are dough 68
How have I been "stalking and harassing" you on here?
    • Crazychick
You've got a very short memory, haven't you? Do you honestly think I believe you don't remember posting vicious lies about me?

  • A friendly community is a difficult thing to ensure. Sometimes it's impossible. And in my experience (for whatever that's worth), the causes of problems are always either bully types in the community, or bully types on the staff. (I've also seen places absentee run ...ie, they used an automated report system and there were no mods at all. You could appeal, but you would always lose, because the program was setup to do that. People left. In droves. You gotta have mods. But they cant just be bullies. A mod should be a compassionate coach, who values every member (even the **holes)(there's always a few), but that good mod will never let them know he's viewed that way, and will leave him feeling positive about himself, and the site, and the need to be supportive of it by staying within bounds. It's just a matter of talking to them like they matter, instead of hitting them on the head with sternness and dispassion. I saw a site with over 2 million members fail and go 404 within 3 years, because of abusive mods. Well....I dont know everything, or even much, cause I';m new. But I dont love the sound of that "penalty box". (It's a ban, right?) Those should be rare. A friendly talk can give a jerk a reputation to LIVE UP TO. Or.. a mod can manage to just make them more resentful and rebellious by bashing them around. You just need a quality staff, and a way to audit it. And the members need to have a voice, & a clear way to communicate with staff (somewhere to post questions, that get answers, & somewhere to read site announcements. I haven't found that yet, though I may be in it right now? lol. I like the people here. I like Answerbag. I hope it grows nicely.

Bravo !! Perfect answer on how to deal with those who step over the line. I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately there are some around here that don't agree and act like spoiled children and ( & I'm being kind here) perhaps unwittingly turn to being bullies and trolls themselves. Two wrongs have never equaled one right, yet these "people" feel the need for retaliation & absolute punishment. They feel justified in their actions and are unable to accept that their continued reaction is just as detrimental to the site as the original offense. Thanks to their continued effort we have now seen, not only the return of the "penalty box", but the nuking of accounts as well.
    • Crazychick
Ice man, is that comment referring to my reaction to that sick psycho? How else was I expected to react? And how does it make me "unwittingly a troll or a bully myself"? Retaliation and absolute punishment are the norm where I come from.
  • I hope so, then they can stick "we are dough 68" in it for the rest of his life.
  • Yes, they send you there if you ask more than 6 or 7 questions in an hour. And no, the moderators seldom show themselves. They delete questions answers and comments from time to time, but mostly they stay out of the way. This Answerbag is fairly drama free until someone shows up starting stuff. We're a happy little community.
    • Army Veteran
      Hold my beer...LOL
  • I don't know about a penalty box, but my questions like to disappear.
  • Yes, there is definitely a Penalty Box. I recently spent 10 days there for letting a troll get the best of me and swearing at him.😒
  • no idea but i was put in it for no reason when i first joined here i think in april 2021.
