  • Not much and depends on how they come across with the information good one Rosie +5
  • If that person's correction is valid, it makes me feel like I'm glad he/she gave me the head's up so I can fix my mistake sooner rather than later.
  • Well im up for criticism but it can be quite annoying when they go on and on about it and rub your face in it!
  • Stuped.... :-)
  • It strokes me ego when I correct people with their spelling and grammar. When people try to correct me, however, I shoot them down in a ball of flames for trying to do so.
  • It makes me feel a little embarrassed and silly, but I would much rather have my mistake pointed out than to keep making it. Of course, it also depends on how it is done. I will point those things out if I know the person, but when I do I am just trying to be helpful, not an arrogant jerk.
  • Don't really care , it usually happens because I have been careless and not checked.
  • I dont mind because some times I mistype a word and have to edit it anyways. So if I over look a misspelled word and they point it out thats good. As for using the word I follow the dictionary. "Use only had directed" lol but all in all if I did not knowhow to spell the word or use it and someone corrects me in a way that is not insulting. I am grateful because then I learned something and know how to use the word or spell it later on.
  • I guess I'd absolutely hate it, but luckily it rarely happens because I'm such a perfectionist... I'm not bothered if it's just a typo, but if it's a genuine mistake that I wasn't aware of, I'd be gutted that someone noticed it when I didn't. x
  • If it is in a question and that was their only response I take it they are a smart a**. But if they answer the question also then its okay, Not many are perfect. This is a Question and Answer site, If all spelling and english is suppose to be perfect on here, they should give a test before allowing you on here if it is that so important. If someone gives it their best I think they should not be criticized to death.
  • Oh crap, I just did that in another question I answered. Please don't hate me because I am a walking nut job who must correct everything.
  • It doesn't bother me in the least. I am far from perfect when it comes to spelling and grammar.
  • Ashamed and embarrassed. I correct others' English in my job and take pride in writing correctly, no matter the forum.
  • Since English is NOT my first language, I like having my spelling (and grammar) corrected, at least when I am clearly in error, I do not like it when their correction is also wrong, or when they erroneously try to correct what is actually already right.
  • I'm a pretty good speller. If I can understand the message, I try to ignore it. Chances are the person knows they're a lousy speller or whatever. Me criticizing doesn't help them spell better.
  • I don't mind being corrected at all.
  • Glad. I can take the experience and LEARN from it. I like having spelled my words correctly, so when someone corrects me, I feel like I'm bettering myself. As long as it's done in a nice enough way.
  • Did you do that on purpose?
  • Not if it's done with the will to help and in a non-condesending manner. It's "mistakes" : )
  • Nah... Makes me mad when I NOTICE that I've mistyped a word, or even dropped one! Everybody makes MISTAKES! <--NOTE spelling! LOL
  • No, because I know they have a small penis or their wife beats them so they need to flex somewhere
  • I usually laugh, especially when they mis-spell a word pointing out my spelling error.
  • I've read some of my old answers and was shocked at my spelling, or typos, made me look like I couldn't spell at all. I realize most spelling mistakes are probably because someone is typing faster than their brain is spelling.
  • HA.HA. No, why waste the energy. They just seem to have a lot of time on their hands & need something to do that makes them feel good.
  • Do you like being illiterate?
  • LOL, we all make "misteaks" :-p
  • Not really... Altho shrthnd n a lng answr ds gt on my nrvs... Yeesh, I hate reading that...
  • No I usually just say thank you. Or else I laugh because sometimes it makes things look very funny. Everyone makes them at time, even you:-)
  • Mistakes? Me?!? NEVER!
  • I feel grateful for the opportunity to not repeat my error.
  • Depends on if it's just a tiny typo, and the person didn't answer my question, then I might be a little bit ticked off.
  • HEY! I don't care about your spelling errors, but when you merge my name into one - it's MISS STEAKS, OK??? LOL ;þ xxx EDIT: This came from another question, so it may not make sense... lol ;) Hey Rosie!! (((HUGS))) It's been AGES!! How are you, I hope you're keeping well, my Pardner!! Happy Monday to you :D
  • it depends on how they do it, if it's sincerely to help me then i'm glad and am thankful, if it's to try and make themselves look better than it pisses me off.
  • I appreciate the lesson in grammar and spelling if it is done in a positive, constructive way. If someone says "hey dumba@# its cat not blah blah blah I would be upset. a lot of times its careless typing in my case
  • I have this person living with me (he's a Gypsy, ya know) and he is uber smart. He does that to me all the time. And when I roll my eyes or anything, he says 'But I'm getting better! I don't do it as much as I used too!' *sighs* Ah, well, I love him. I just roll my eyes and continue.
