  • It depends how athy they are to begin with.
  • 01-01-2017 "Atheist" means "without god". It does not imply anything about any other belief. Every atheist is completely on his own and free to believe or not believe anything.

You might think that a person who does not believe in God believes nothing. That is not so. A person who does not believe in God will believe anything.

This question doesn't mention "Atheist". Take a closer look, Jewels. See also my answer.

You've been put in your place.....
    • Moongrim
Funny Jewels, it is the Theist who will believe anything.

An ATHEIST believes firmly there IS no God...Different from an agnostic who is not sure.
    • Ilovesealions
Pugwash that's not true. An atheist ONLY lacks belief that there IS a god. Not all atheists hold a belief that there isn't one. Most atheists are agnostic and admit they don't know. We're not all gnostic atheists.
  • The word is "atheist", not "atheist". Don't take any notice of that old saying "I before E except after C", because there are far too many weird exceptions.

    • Think different
You spelled it the same both times. You meant "not athiest".

I hate it when peeple spell uncorectly.......
  • They simply do not know...but the Bible tells us... (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6) For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all, nor do they have any more reward, because all memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they no longer have any share in what is done under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 9:10) Whatever your hand finds to do, do with all your might, for there is no work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the Grave, where you are going.
    • Moongrim
      You don't know either.

I am citing my Bible,,and I agree with it... I cannot give proof...YET!~
  • I believe that we no longer exist anywhere. I believe it's just like it was before we were ever born.
    • pugwashjw65
At death we cease to exist...But we remain in God's memory...That is how he can resurrect us...every detail.
  • Most atheist simply believe you loose consciousness and die. Including myself, when you are dead you are dead. There is no more brain function to make you aware.
    • we are dough
      What is brain function....?
    • Moongrim
      Brain function = Consciousness.
  • For me, many of my organs will be donated to help someone else live. The rest- will be cremated.
  • What is athiest?
  • Most atheist are science and logic oriented... they understand that there is a very fine (or even not existing!) line between being living and not living. Complex physical and chemical reaction give rise to a condition which we call life. They also think about the question like when they really became alive, when their zygote go fertilized or when it became embryo or when they came out of their mother womb. So when exactly they became alive.... never actually. The world will be different after they die, but to me, its like you have a table on which you studied for years. One day you destroy it by burning it, now questioning "Where is my table? Is it in hell or heaven, god or demon??" thats real bullshit! Hope you got that.
  • Nothing happens. Life ceases.
  • I don't hold a belief in anything happening when I die. I have no clue what, if anything happens when someone dies.
  • Our bodies are inactive when we pass away as we are history and that’s all there is to it
  • Pretty sure they think they go into a void/non existence. They're still slightly(the memories of them) alive after dying until their relatives forget they exist after they die. Maybe 100-200 years after they die. I'm an agnostic who believes "I don't know hat happens after I die."
