"For the Love of the Game" - A better story than Field of Dreams and better baseball scenes than Bull Durham, yet it still has Costner in it. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0126916/

Field of Dreams. I loved James Earl Jones and Burt Lancaster in their roles. I was really moved by the reunion of Ray Kinsella with his father and by the redemption that followed. I guess it's the only baseball movie that moved me to tears.

Great question. Field of Dreams, or the Sandlot. They both showed the love of the game and how baseball takes us back to a better time.

Call it corny but mine is "It Happens Every Spring." A comedy about a college chemistry professor who accidentally discovers a formula that is repellent to wood. He uses it to become a star pitcher (he rubs the chemical on the baseballs and no ballplayer can hit them). This way he helps his favorite team win the World Series. (Shades of "The Absent Minded Professor).
