  • When it comes to plastic scale model kits, I've experienced great things from Hasegawa ( planes and helicopters ) and Tamiya ( military and automotive ). If you are just starting out in modelling, these are sure-hits as far as accuracy and ease of construction and minimal faults in the molding. Some of the lesser quality makers like Revell-Monogram, Academy and Italeri leave a lot to be desired. Sometimes body panels don't connect well, leaving you with unsightly gaps if left untreated. For quality with die-cast prebuilt display model cars, whether racing or not, I feel hands-down the best out there is Minichamps and UT. And to a lesser extent Maesto and Burrago, and rounding out the bottom is Hot Wheels. Of course with higher quality comes high premiums, so it depends on what you are looking for and how much you are willing to spend.
  • yes i concurr however an ever increasing supply of great subjects are on offer from dragon models ,i use these 90 % of the time ,they are every bit as good as tamiya but around the same price!!! often they even come with photoetched metal details ,in small consice packets that help introduce you to this next level and theyr always optional! so simply love em or leave em it wont detract from the kit!!!!!ENJOY YOUR MODELLING!!!
