Telekinesis allows you to interact with objects at a distance. Pretty much any action that requires you to "touch" an object, such as picking up an object, casting a spell, opening a door, etc., can be accomplished with a telekinesis spell. The duration of the spell is how long it lasts, while the distance is how far away you can interact with an object. You'll know if you're close enough because the object's information will pop up on the screen when you point the cursor at it, as it would if you were standing right next to it. Telekinesis is useful if you are trying to steal something without being seen by an NPC. If you can maneuver yourself into a corner or niche so that the NPC can't see you, but you can see the object you want to steal, then you can just pop a telekinesis potion and grab the object. If you have an unlock spell, this is a great way to get into locked merchants' chests or locked rooms that you normally can't access without being seen and attacked or arrested.
