Texas executes the most people every year out of all the American states. I think its like 2 or 3 a month.

From http://www.clarkprosecutor.org/html/death/dpusa.htm (found on google via search for "current death penalty states in US"): As of July 1, 2003, the Death Penalty was authorized by 38 states, the Federal Government, and the U.S. Military. Those jurisdictions without the Death Penalty include 12 states and the District of Columbia. (Alaska, Hawaii, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin). Does that answer your question?
