Ugg,I don't want the light pollution out here,you can't see the stars if there is that type of light,,I find being in the country just fine without night lights:)

With street lights. Fortunately or unfortunately not in front of our house. I met a guy once that loved the fact the street lights would shine into his house at night, because then he didn't need night lights if he got up at night and he could save on his electric bill. BTW, you can get night lights now that use .03 W instead of the old 4 W incandescent bulbs. This means that you would have to plug around 130 of this new style in to use the same amount of electricity as the old style.

This is a good question, because I live on a street without street lights, and because of that, there is more nighttime crime in my neighborhood. Two nights ago (on 11-20) I had to phone 9-1-1 and report that I heard six gunshots in my immediate neighborhood. I don't know if street lights would have prevented that (probably not) but there is less crime in neighborhoods where street lights exist, than in those where they do not. +5
