I would always be the one skipping to the Doctors whenever I was due for a vaccination. For some strange reason I've always loved vaccinations.
-
True - I don't mind them now, but I was a big crybaby about them when I was little.
-
True. Especially the polio vaccine. It took two days to walk right.
-
I figured out after a few that it wasn't really that terrible. Worrying ahead of time was much worse than the shot itself.
-
When I was a child, the only vaccination I remember was the smallpox vaccination. Those were given on the shoulder by placing the serum on the skin and then lightly pricking the skin with a small needle. This did not hurt ( as I recall ) so I didn't have a problem with it.

I don't think so. I didn't like getting a shot but it didn't happen very often. Oh! It just started to snow :-) How purdy!
-
true indeed
-
Yes, I did. Right up until I was old enough to understand what they meant. My grandmother lost two siblings and her mother in childhood. She had to leave school to come home and raise her younger siblings when their mother died of something that is now easily preventable. She lost an aunt in the TB epidemics. She lost various friends and relatives to childhood diseases that are now easily preventable by simple vaccinations. When you realize the death toll, the horror and the grief that is prevented by one simple stick in the arm or the butt, you realize what a gift they are.
