I'm probably one of the few who isn't crazy about Stephen King's horror books. I don't like the way he ends them. (I do, however, like his stories in other genres, like Shawshank Redemption.) I do not like so-called "self help" books. I do not like the Harlequin Romance type of novels. I do not like James Michener books.

Romance novels are pretty much the only ones I don't like. I would read the encyclopedia before I would read a romance novel.

Generally historical books. Sometimes non-fiction, sometimes historical fiction.

Mainly science fiction and science fact, but I'll read anything in a pinch.

It depends upon what's going on at the time. If I'm having a hard time with something or wanting to learn something new, I'll pick up a book on that subject. If not, I usually like a suspense type novel, like John Grisham or sumpin likat.
