MY JVC TV(model AV32950) SHUTS OFF BY ITSELF. I UNPLUG IT FOR 5 MINUTES AND PLUG IT BACK IN. IT STARTS UP AND RUNS FOR AWILE AND THEN SHUTS OFF AGAIN.

try a different tape, if it still does it, it's probably defective

Is it one of those VCR/DVD Built-in Televisions? Silver in color, and only shuts off when the DVD is playing? If so, we have one at work and it started doing the same thing after about 20 minutes of DVD watching. We just turn it back on, but it gets annoying during lunch. Haven't figured out why it's doing it.
