• hot tea with honey is usually a big help
  • Try drinking Dayquil. The medicine itself doesn't work too well, but the stuff is so think that it can take the pain away real fast.
  • You could try gargling with some warm salt water. That helps me when I have a sore throat. Or you can try some Cloreseptic throat spray to numb the pain.
  • Try 2 Advil liqui-gels and a cup of hot tea with lemon. That's what works for me.
  • Sorry Charlie, Having a killer sore throat just simply sucks. Chewing on a coughdrop may relieve it but you just have to weather the storm. I just got over one and I only had it for 2 days!! The shortest I've ever had!!! Hang in there.
  • There is an herbal tea called "Throat Coat" drink some of that with some honey in it. I hope this helps.
  • Traditional Medicinals makes a tea called "Throat Coat" - provides great relief, but only temporary. You prob should call the Dr if it's been more than a cpl days... could be an infection.

  • honey ginger lemon tea... fill a cup with water, and pour the water in a saucepan to boil... slice up a pinky tip size of ginger, add it to the water and boil for 15 minutes. Use a spoon to put a tablespoon of honey in the cup, squeeze juice from 1/2 a lemon over the honey, and pour over the boiled ginger water -- stir until the honey is melted. Makes a yummy treat in addition to providing relief from a sore throat.
  • 12-13-2016 Calcium pills reduce sensitivity to the pain. They work especially well for a toothache. Tums is a calcium pill.
  • A hot cup of green tea. And add some lemon juice and honey if you can. Drink as may cups as you can handle. Lots of water too.
