  • Maybe I am naive, but I don't think so
  • I would if they harmed my children.
  • To protect myself or my children I could, and I think I also could to protect someone else's children.
  • Not sure.
  • Yes. I could. I don't take it lightly, it would be a horrible thing that you'd have to live with for the rest of your life. But if my or someone else's life depended on it, I could and I would. I'm a 17 year old girl, I carry a shotgun, and I'm a helluva shot. It was loaded and in my lap just this week when some creep chased me in my truck down a dirt road.
  • I could give them a tittie twister and it doesn't have to be absolutely necessary...........
  • I think that if it was absolutely necessary and there was no way to avoid killing that person or that it was the only way to keep someone dear to me safe, then I think that yes, I could. But I don't think I could kill someone without a very valid reason....I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing I took the life of someone who should have lived.
  • I know for a fact that I could. I was once close to doing so. My brother had to fight a kid twice his age but half his height to protect my sister and he beat him. Then the ids older brother goes after my brother with a knife. He ended up in the hospital.
  • i would.. only its the last option
  • I've often wondered that. I hope I'll never be tested. Gene Rodenberry had an interesting mind. The original Star Trek had cheesy special effects, but the writing was deep and imaginative. He explored some very deep questions. I don't know if you'd call me a Trekkie, but I've always found the questions he posed to be deep and challenging. One of the questions that has stayed with me was the one posed in City on the Edge of Forever, which was very similar to yours: if by preventing the death of a good person, you would cause Hitler to win the war, could you stand by and watch them die? I saw that episode for the first time probably more than 35 years ago, and that question has stayed with me. I've often wondered, if I had a crack at Hitler and knew what he was going to do, would I have the courage to shoot him in cold blood? If I could save the lives of 6 million people by doing it, would I? And how would God view that? I believe the Ten Commandments injunction is specifically against murder, as God gives parameters for war and the death penalty elsewhere in the Bible. But if I did that preemptively, would that be murder? Elsewhere in the Bible, God orders Israel to go to war and to wipe out a people in order to prevent the deaths of innocent children in the future, where a people is committing child sacrifice to idols. But I guess the dividing line would be whether God gave you foreknowledge and marching orders or not. And even God will keep contending with a people for a long time before their evil has reached a point where He can no longer tolerate it.
  • Under the right circumstance yes I have. could sorry ya could.
  • him or me or my country or his
  • yes i could
  • Although I most certainly know how, I would make every effort possible to NOT kill while still doing what ever possible to still solve the crisis ... a severely brain damaged paraplegic is still alive ... Ninjitsu has a "death of personality" technique that causes brain damage and the loss of all higher brain functions as well as destroying all possible ability to access memories, the body lives on, but the mind and personality of the person are gone ...
  • Yes, my mother bear instinct is well intact.
  • Define "absolutely necessary". There are about six or seven that I'd like to kill just for sport. Maybe another half dozen that I wouldn't mind taking out just as sort of "spring training" or practice. Anybody got a clock tower for rent, and a used high-powered rifle for sale?
  • hmmmm, yes i think i do have it in me.
  • I could not and would not.I am not religious in any sense but think taking another's life regardless the consequences would create much more bad karma for me in future lives,if not this one, that the pay back would well outdo the killing itself.
  • i could but probably wouldn't because i always wind up thinking about the long term ramifications . I would be able to control my emtions enough at any point to do this, and let the person get arrested, while saving my own ass in the process.
  • absolute yes!
  • Yes if I HAD to, if it were his life or mine I would.
  • Yes if it was to protect my family
  • +5. Only with kindness
  • yes, im like a momma bear. i would take a life or lose mine trying to protect my kids.
  • Yes I could. But getting caught would prevent me from doin so. I have too much in life to risk goin to prison for
  • I find it necessary quite often.
  • To protect myself or someone I love, absolutely
  • Yup, For many reason. Protecting my family being the first one that comes to mind.
  • yes, but i hope it never comes to that
  • If I were the target I don't know but I don't think so. However if the target were someone I love I think rage would take over and it would be automatic..I can't see thinking about anything else but to destroy the threat! :)
  • Sure.No qualms at all!
  • I've noticed in Texas and Oklahoma, that the standards for "Absolutely Necessary" have been continuously lowered every year.
  • Without a doubt.
  • When is it absolutely necessary to kill somebody? I think only in a real case of self-defence when I only have the choice me or him or if I defend another person.
  • yup. I would not hesitate to kill if my my children's lives were in danger
  • Ouch. Yes.
  • Very difficult one to answer....When you say "absolutely necessary", even the terrorists have an agenda and they go about their acts thinking its "absolutely necessary". However If it were in self defence or to save one loved one from being killed, I'd say "Affirmative!"
