..I'm starting to think it's only where I live that "cop" has a negative connotation.. Whenever I'm online, people use it to refer to ANY police officer.. I've never heard that offline.

mushroom It is an informal and somewhat diminutive usage. I got one of those fake IRS calls including a threat that they would send "the cops" if I did not reply. Oh, NOES! Not the "COPS"!

That you are not "driving", but "traveling" and you have a right to travel without having to comply with motor vehicle laws or show ID because you are a sovereign citizen and never agreed to any contract with government agencies. Then wait for your driver's door window to get broken when you do not comply.
