  • Probably because they think it's too twangy and the singers try too hard. That's my opinion.
  • Well, I don't hate it, but some of it sounds depressing. Too many sad songs. It could be the country accent for most people too. Just my guess though, so please don't hate me for that! :)
  • I can't speak for anyone else. But, I can't stand country music because for the most part, it's the "walking the floor over you" crap. Sooo depressing.
  • i hate country music just because i dont like it. Everyone else in my family likes it along with a lot of my friends, im just the rockstar in the group.
  • Corny lyrics? Don't get me wrong, corny lyrics are fun to write. I also really like the old Country/Western style music...rural rhythm type, you know?
  • coz its really shit
  • For the same reason people hate [fill in a genre of music] music; we all have different tastes. There is no logical reason for most hate of anything. Most genres have enough variation that whatever reason is claimed does not apply across the board anyway. Much of modern country could easily be sold as simply "pop" but they choose to market to the country music demographic. To an alien who had never heard earth music, country, blues, rock and even Rn B would seem like all part of the same thing. Music theory wise, they are pretty much the same thing.
  • I don't know about other people, but I don't like them because they're often just about losing a girlfriend or something depressing like that, and while some of them actually seem to have meaning, a lot of them don't. Also, a lot of country radio stations often advertise as being family friendly, but if you listen to the lyrics, they often aren't and that bugs me. Just my personal opinion here, and if anyone has any logical arguments feel free to leave a comment.
  • Because of the stygma that they only sing about dogs and trains. If most people would listen to the words and stories a lot people could associate with the music. They gotta be better than songs like "Smack that A**". And yes it's a song. Heck, last time I checked there were more suicides (especially in teens) associated with rap and hip hop than counry.
  • Because it's shit. Shit.
  • It's got something to do with the fact that humans come with ears.
  • Alotta Peeple and Sum Peeple are... . . . . . . . . . . ...assholes.
  • Most of today's country performers like Kenny Chesney and Carrie Underwood suck. I hate country music and I am proud of it.
  • I must not be a part of a lot of people unless there is also a lot that are indifferent. If I felt as you and I believed I knew some of those many that felt so strongly as to hate I would ask them as they would be the best source for this information. +5
  • i do not think peopel hate it. it is just that tunes are sometimes annoying, wording too nice... we are bad.. lol

  • Well I guess its just not to everyone's taste..not everyone likes Rock or Pop music..thats life :D
  • Because it's specially formulated to give listeners a headache. The whining, nasally voices are annoying (at least IMHO).
  • because it's dismal.
  • Seeing what tv shows & movies are the most popular, obviously alot of people like to hear and see the gory details of the worst aspects of life. Country music doesn't really get into that. Maybe the people who hate country music are better suited to death metal or rap? idk...
  • depends which country
  • I don't like it either. I don't know why though.
  • I don't think a lot of people "hate" country music. A lot of people find it boring. But then, a lot of people are bored by Bach, and Bob Dylan, and Eric Clapton, etc., etc., etc.
