  • Roman Gladiator cause he went up against the Lions.
  • I believe that when all was said and done ; that the great Apache Warrior would be victorious .... I have no idea what that TV show ended up saying ...
  • A gladiator
  • It probably would depend on the circumstances and equipment. The styles of fighting were entirely different.
  • When in doubt, always go with the Apache. I'm part Cherokee so, even though it's a different tribe, I gotta' stick with my peeps.
  • A Roman Gladiator of course
  • It was proven a few minutes ago on the Spike channel that the APACHE INDIAN WOULD WIN !!!!!!!! Gladiators SUCKED rocks!!!! http://www.ask.com/bar?q=spike+channel&page=1&qsrc=0&ab=0&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.spiketv.com%2F
  • Did you hear about the Roman Soldier? He was a glad he ate er.
  • I'm betting on the Apache. Twang! Plop.
  • An Indian Watrrior would win.
  • Apache Indians...but im just guessing ;)
  • You have put the question under Ancient History. There is absolutely no chance of an Apache Indian having met, let alone fought a Roman Gladiator. So no point in speculating.
  • Never get in the way of an angry Apache! My money's on the Indian. The Romans didn't even hair cool haircuts!
  • I saw that show. According to the simulator, the Apache warrior would beat the gladiator, being on the good side of a 2:1 ratio. Of course, the simulator doesn't take into account a lot of factors, but I'm sure even if it did the Apache would still win. Gladiators are meant to spill blood and then die, not kill quickly and effectively. The dramatization of that simulation was pretty awesome though, if a little ridiculous. The rest of the show was sort of a disappointment however, because most of it was just the Apache guys and the gladiator fanboys bickering about who was better, as if the two have a long history of fighting together.
  • Being both Italian and American Indian. Thats a tough one for me. Im conflicted.
  • I would say the Apache. Only because most Gladiators were a) slaves, b)prisoners c)ill trained aristocrats down on their luck looking for some money and fame. Gladiators were not warriors as most Apache males would have been. Gladiators fought mostly for show, yes there were deaths and injuries but they had hospitals to heal injured fighters. A gladiator was an investment, you did not really want them killing each other.
  • Screw the simulation, I'm going with the gladiator. Apaches were fierce, but gladiators lived to fight day in and day out. They were animals that did nothing else.
  • You would BanginBaxter
  • I'd say the Gladiator because they're brought up learning how to fight. An Apache Indian was brought up learning how to live. If it's melee, it would most certainly be the Gladiator. If they started with some distance and the Indian was given a bow then the Indian. Despite popular belief, Indians weren't brought up as war-mongering savages. Instead they only get the rap of decent adversaries because they knew the land so well.
  • I'd have gone for the gladiator i think. Not that indian would suck at fighting but the gladiator would have the edge i think.
  • Gladiator as he has on protction armor and better weapons.
  • im gonna say Russell Crowe would whoop the shit out of that indian did you see him in the movie??? he killed evrybody! LOL!!
  • Eek! THat's a bit hard. But, my money's on the guy with the pointy-sharp metal thing who goes through intense training just to stay alive every day. GLADIATOR!!!
  • Chuck Norris
  • Long-range weapons rule. The Apache would have the gladiator stuck full of arrows long before they're close enough to use the sword.
  • I think it totally depends on where the fight took place and what weapons they had...in an arena the gladiator would have the advantage, but placed in a forest, an Apache with a bow would be able to take the gladiator from a distance easily.
  • Depends. In an open environment, the Apache would have the advantage. A captured Apache in a Roman Collusseum wouldn't fare very well at all.
  • In the Vietnam War, a unit of Apaches was dispatched to the jungles to fight. There were no reports of heavy losses, and the Apache camp was never attacked, despite the fact that all regular units around them were having a hard time dealing with the vietcong. The military brass thought this was funny, so they flew in to check it out. The Apache were milling around their camp when the brass arrived and demanded to know what was up. The leader of the camp then lead the brass out to the outskirts of the camp where several Vietcong heads were hanging from trees as a warning. The entire unit was sent home. I don't know if that story is true or not. My uncle who was in Nam told it to me. Either way, the Apache kicked all sorts of ass, so my vote goes for them.
  • I think this was on that one show, warriors or something, and it was the Apache man who won.
  • An Apache would win. A gladiator does have the edge for using metal weapons, but an Apache has an overall skill and experience at guerilla warfare, flexibility of weapons, options and is very quick with the knife.
