  • Move to somewhere in Britain would be the best way if you don't want a voice coach, or just watch films and TV from Britain and try and pick it up, though of course you would have to make sure whatever you watched all had people from the same area or country in Britain, or you will get a weird hybrid of a few accents.
  • Put a plum in your mouth.
  • Madonna got one in her 40's. Watch a lot of Merchant Ivory films .. or marry an English director.
  • Fake it. :o)
  • Move there. I spent several weeks in the UK & the accent was creeping into my speech in that short period.
  • Just make like Madonna and pretend !
  • To be honest, there is no such thing as a 'British' accent. Britain has many, many different accents dependant upon where you live - Scotland, Wales, England, Northern Ireland are all completely different and all have their different dialects. I'm from Manchester (North West England), and I sound nothing like someone from London or Birmingham or Cornwall. You'd have to decide first of all, which accent you wanted. Then I'd suggest living and working in that area for a number of years.
