Does anyone write poetry or song lyrics and if so how hard is it to sell them?

Not sure about selling them, but the best way to get recognised is to enter things like regional or possibly national poetry competitions. Even if you don't win, some people may pick up on your work. As for lyrics, the best way to do that is turn them into a song and perform at things like open mic nights or try getting gigs at various pubs/clubs. Or record and put on te internet (myspace is best for this, in my experience, but things like last.fm are pretty good too.)
