  • It is if you're having sex. The older one could easily go to jail for a long time for that.
  • Its not legal if in the US, thats all I can say
  • It depends on what they do. If they are having sex, it is not a good idea. In many states the age of consent would allow this, in other states, it would not be legal. If these two people are simply going to movies, dinners, and other normal dating activities, no problem.
  • If both your parents are fine with it, and you don't do anything illegal- I believe it's okay. :)
  • The one who's 17, should wait till his/her next birthday.
  • only if you're just going out. But then, one thing leads to another to another to another, and there you go!
  • Theirs n0 harm on it if you are comfortable with each other, but d0nt do sex.
  • well.. 17 is pretty close to 18, and 18 and anything is fine with me.
  • Depends on the person. And a lot to do with how the parents of the 17 year old see this. I'd say let the parents of the 17 year old, get to know the 23 year old first. Maybe they can all go out to dinner together to learn more of each other first. But my main advice is not to try anything without the parents permission first. In other words. Never go behind the parents back. For it is their job, to keep their children safe...Just my point of view tho........M.C.S.
  • deffenatly, age is just a number. i was 16 when i was with a 22year old and he had a 4 year old daughter.. and no we are not together. but we were for 11 months! just enjoy you love life, and dont care what ppl have to say..!
  • That depends which Country you are in and if it is a sexual relationship or not. If you are in theUnited States and it is a sexual relationship it is bad because he could go to prison for having sex with a minor. He is an adult and in law you are still a child below the age of consent.
  • Not if you have a good relationship.
  • Nothing wrong but sometimes older people will use their age as a weapon to influence you your decision. Example they say they have experienced this thing and ask you to try it out as no harm on doing it. Bottomline be wise and let you decide yourself.Older people can advise but never let them fool you.
  • Wel im a 22 year old man, and i really wouldnt encourage it.. i know what we are like!
  • IT WORKED FOR ME I WAS 16 AND HE WAS 22, AND WE GOT LOADS OF STICK, BUT WE DID WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS RIGHT AND WE ARE STILL TOGETHER 7 YEARS LATER!!! STILL GOING VERY STRONG WITH 2 LITTLE BOYS NOW, JUST LISTEN TO YOURSELF, IF IT FEELS WRONG THEN TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS.
  • I guess 100%ly, that guy want to have sexual intercourse with you or just nostalgiac meeting.
  • I think its bad if the 17 yr. old is still in highschool. I also think it questions the respect the 23yr. old has for the 17yr. olds parents. I really doubt they are okay with this.
  • Hum... I don't think that it's bad, everyone makes their own choices, but sometimes older people use their age to influence others... Also.. this one is a more personnel way of thinking of mine... Dating an older guy or girl will either make the older one live in a younger way or vice-versa... This means that, for example you are 17 and he's 23, when he gets to be 30, which is the age where you start to "cool down" and think about having kids, you will be 24, wich is the "party age" where you want to have fun now that you are free and independet... This all means that either one of you will get a little "childish" for his age, or not enjoy your "free" years... like "Anonymous" that said she was 16 and he was 22... the she got 2 kids after 7 years...23 years old... well .. i'm sorry... i have a pretty negative look of the world sometimes... It might work with both of you... Just don't have kids lol.. I'm sorry
  • It's not illegal in the UK
  • Age doesn't necessarily matter in a relationship. However, there is a risk involved. From a legal standpoint, the 23 year old runs the risk of being charged with statuory rape if any kind of problems ever arose in the relationship. Just be careful and good luck to you.
  • I won't say bad, but it seem a little strange. When we are younger, it seems more appropriate to hang with ppl our own age. There are always exceptions to any rule or routine.
  • If sex is occuring, this is rape. 23 is an adult. 17 is a minor.
  • here's what people have to say for an 18 y/o dating a 23 y/o: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/1339231
  • I'd keep it on the down low until you turn 18. It doesn't look good and of course if your having sex that is dangerous for the 23 yr old, legally. I was in a similar situation. I am older than my boyfriend and I waited until he turned 18 before I decided to even date him. lol Call me paraniod but better to be safe than sorry.
  • you could be accused of rape
  • no not at all ive always dating older men cause little boys just dont cut it
  • I'm 23 and my boyfriend is 17. It's not bad for us, it's just difficult. 7 years is not much, but when we are this young we're going through very different stages of our lives. The most important thing is to get the youngest to be honest with his parents about their relationship. They will sure be worried and will like to get to know the adult here. But if there's love and respect then it's not bad, it's good. Don't get me wrong, I don't recommend it. But i'm not an hypocrit, I don't judge relationships based on age difference anymore. My relationship is very succesful, I discovered love. There's mutual feeling, respect, goodness. Numbers are just an excuse for people not to support you and listen to you...
  • Enjoy and do not let the age bother you.
  • naw just go with what your heart tells you : ] and stay honest with each other so there are no misunderstandings.
