• Depends on the lender. Following an injury, I once fell 30 days past due on a mortgage, my lender said the would start foreclosure if I wasn't brought current (including penalty costs) before it went 45 days. This lender was probably on the extreme side though. The best advice I can give you is to keep in contact with your lender. Try to make arrangements with them. As long as you are trying, they may not foreclose.
