You could go to the e-support page for the drivers and manual of your model, and download all the Vista drivers and the manual for that model, keep them safe on a stick. Then check on the esupport page, clicking on each driver to find the name and source of each driver and go to the OEM's of each of the drivers (i.e Intel chipset and graphics - go to Intel) and download the XP equivalent, remembering that for some you will want the mobile sort, for laptops. If it doesn't work out, go back to Vista and put your original drivers on again from the stick or CD if not found by Vista. here is a sony driver page - may not be your model though http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNCR420EN&LOC=3 of course you would need to back up all your precious docs, pics and music, and have to install all your apps again..but you knew that, didn't you..
