  • I see from your answer that you are talking about MS Word. Drag through the cells you want to merge, right click on them and select Merge cells from the menu that appears, or select Merge cells from the Tables menu. If you want a toolbar button go to the Customise sub-menu, which is probably on the Tools menu, click on Table on the left hand side and scroll the right hand pane down until you see the Merge Cells button. Drag it onto the toolbar and click OK.
