Why are people so obsessed with getting points on this site? Am i the only one noticing this?

Nope not just you, I noticed that on day one too. See I figured out that it's the X-ians, you know how they can't take anything into heaven, well, I guess they figure the points is the one thing they can take with them either that or maybe they have a secret deal with god and plan to exchange the points they earn on AB for a one-way ticket to Hahaven

I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with getting points, but it I get disappointed when someone downgrades me for no good reason...(watch, a bunch of ppl will now down grade me...boo hoo). I've not seen anyone actually obsessed - like cus others out in comments about why they didn't give them points, etc...if that's what you mean?

Thats a good question I have noticed it to, some people will just answer the same question over and over in really dorky ways knowing that they will get points... Other than that I really Dont Know but + 2 for you :)

It seems to just come with the turf. Silly as it is when I reflect on it, I do look at the level meter filling up that cloak toward the next level. Let's claim it's all altruism. I want to be able to give you even more points for asking such a great question. Unfortunately, right now AB says I've already given you all they will allow me. :)

i think it would slow down if it was one vote point per person. I cant really understand what the point of the graduated system is, excpet to get you hooked as a beginner.

I guess it's the whole point (no pun intended) behind AB for some - not for all though. I have noticed it, but to each their own right? :)

I'm sure its happened to a lot of us and some of us actually wise up and just do the AB thing because they enjoy helping people. At that point, points don't matter and that's where I am now.

10/28/2024, back in the old Answerbag, it was somewhat of a video game, were points allowed users to move up levels.

Its been a long time since anyone on this site cared about points I've never noticced anyone that worried about answer bag points. AB points have never mattered since Ive been coming here.

There were points awarded for questions on the old Answer bag, but it wasn't a bragging point back then. People were asking questions with reasons and friendships developed. The Old AB was fun today it is just about getting points.
