  • Christmas stockings should always face in toward the hearth. The toe should be closest to Santa as he arrives because if he drops any coins down the chimney there's more chance they will land in the stockings if the toes face into the hearth. For appearance sake it looks better if the toe points left. We see everything from left to right so the toe is what we see first. For decorating purposes definitely toes to the left. Children have no preference :-)
  • For some reason, I always see them pointing to the right. Maybe point the toe towards the Christmas tree.
  • I think it looks better to make sure the name on the stocking is facing outward. That way none of my goodies make it into anyone elses stocking!! Hahaha! Happy Holidays to all! :)
