  • The bible calls God a happy God. The reason things are a sin is because they aren't good for us in the long run and not how we were meant to live our lives. So what is best for us is good and would make us happy. It is very possible to have a very happy life and follow God's laws and principles. Why would a happy God want his people that he loves to be miserable? Of course he designed our bodies and the earth with all it's wonders and marvels to make us happy. Why make us with taste buds if he didn't want us to enjoy different flavors of food. Why make our eyes able to marvel at all the colors of the world if it wasn't to give us delight? Why design us for loving one another and have families, if it isn't to improve our lives and give us opportunities to be happy like he is with his family in heaven?
  • Right on the bulls-eye!
  • I'd just say that in all likelihood he doesn't exist and even if he did I doubt he'd care about something as cosmologically insignificant as humans morals or activities. Even on an evolutionary scale I doubt he'd care.
  • In one of the books of scripture used by my religion, we are specifically told that "men are that they might have joy." God wants all of us to be happy. As Galeanda wrote, the things that God commands against are things that are detrimental to us and to society in general. The problem that many people have is they get so wrapped up in what they are not doing right that they forget to take joy in the things that they are doing right. Yes, we are supposed to be striving for perfection, but God knows that none of us capable of achieving this ideal in this life. That is why He sent His Son to pay for our sins. Yes, we will keep making mistakes. However, if we keep repenting and struggling to improve, then Christ's grace is sufficient to take away the guilt and allow us to live happy lives.
  • of course it isn't accurate and you know it. God wants mankind to: 1)recognize His existence and 2) accept our need of Him. simple. don't make it harder than it has to be. and He wants us all to be happy. just because i don't let my child eat candy for breakfast lunch and dinner doesn't mean i am some horrid control freak, i just know better than my child what is best for him/her. simply put, in order to believe in God you need faith, you need to admit you don't have all of the answers and it's possible there is a superior intellect to your own that defies your limited powers of understanding. for some people their vanity and arrogance make that step of faith impossible.
  • Totally inaccurate. Anything that goes against the nature of God leads to destruction. John 10:10 "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
  • It just seems that way - but I know what you mean.
  • 7-28-2017 If you are trying to make up your own religion, I should think you could make up a better one than that. That's why the bible is the best: nobody made it up, they just wrote down what came from the God of rightness. What you have there is a revelation from Satan, who wants you to be confused.
  • No. Wickedness never was happiness. Men are that they might have joy! The Commandments keep us safe and protect us from harm.
  • Any sin is what is not God's will. But in the Bible we are to be happy in Jesus.
  • The big problem with this statement is it is a man's false statement! What most people think is sin is not sin at all. Sin is when someone injures another person physically, conscientiously, or places a stumbling block before them. for instance, Rape is a sin (it takes what is not given, it injures another person) but consensual sex is not. The Lord God likes us to be happy and enjoys giving us our freedom. Man in his attempt to "fill in the gaps" makes laws contrary to those of the Lord God. God seldom tells us what we can do but what we cannot do. Where there is no law there is no violation. Christians are not under the OT God's Law. Jesus Christ abolished the Old Law (Romans 10:4) replacing it with the Law of Love (Matthew 22: 36-40). Read the, "Royal Law of Liberty: Living in Freedom Under Christ's Law of Love" by Darwin Chandler. I promise you will not be unhappy.
