im in my mid 30s. i dont feel old at all. im a kid at heart and i think that keeps me youthful in appearance & spirit. my inner child likes to play and keep a sense of wonder about the world. the only major change i noticed is that i need 7 hours of sleep to be fully recharged. the 4 hours i used to get for years just doesnt cut it anymore.

My hands, I wish you could get a hand lift & tucked at the wrist. I've always loved the sun & it will really age your hands.

Probably should be talking about any number of physical dynamics or characteristics. But the thing that's more likely to make me pause and think of "age" (since my inside norm is NOT that)? Well .. it's when I bring up something in conversation .. what I'll call "cultural or historical reference points". Who was president or a major news story or a musical group/song or any other bit that "belongs" to a specific year or decade. If I do that and I get back a blank look or one of those "deer staring into the headlights" looks .. or even a "huh?" in return? WHOOPS. I've hit an age bump. Ditto if we turn it around if I don't get THEIR social or cultural reference points, slang, nuances and I'm the one with the HUH feeling and question. The good news comes if both parties are willing to "say" there's a disconnect and to fill each other in. (the context, if you will) As that happens, feel less "old" or "young" but rather .. two travelers on the same journey .. sharing as they can and will.
